How Leave Salary Is Calculated
- Entitlement: 30 days of paid leave for each year of service, and 2 days for each month if you have worked more than six months but less than one year (Article 29(1)(a) and (b)).
- Final year: if your service ends before you use your balance, you are entitled to leave for the part of the last year you worked (Article 29(1)(c)).
- Leave taken while employed: paid at your full wage, which includes fixed allowances such as housing and transport (Article 29(1) and (6)).
- Unused leave when you leave: you must be paid for leave days you did not take (Article 29(9)). The cash allowance is calculated on your basic salary (Article 19 of Cabinet Resolution No. 1 of 2022).
- Carry-forward: unused leave can be carried to the next year only with your employer’s approval (Article 29(5)).
- Payment deadline: unused leave is part of your final dues, which your employer must pay within 14 days of the contract ending (Article 53).
